Pet Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging tool that allows our veterinary team to look inside your pet’s body in real time. Using sound waves (not radiation), ultrasound helps us evaluate organs, tissues, and structures that cannot be assessed through physical exam alone. This safe and painless procedure is often used as an important next step when bloodwork, X-rays, or clinical signs indicate the need for further investigation.

What Ultrasound Can Help Detect?

Abdominal ultrasound can be used to evaluate:
  • Liver, kidneys, spleen, and bladder
  • Gastrointestinal tract and intestinal changes
  • Abdominal masses or fluid
  • Reproductive organs
  • Changes in organ size, shape, or texture
  • Causes of vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, or abdominal pain
Ultrasound gives us detailed information that helps guide diagnosis, treatment plans, and next steps in your pet’s care.
What to Expect

Ultrasound is:
  • Non-invasive
  • Painless
  • Typically does not require anesthesia
  • Performed with your pet comfortably positioned while images are obtained
In some cases, light sedation or hair clipping may be recommended to ensure the best image quality and reduce stress.
