Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging tool that allows our veterinary team to look inside your pet’s body in real time. Using sound waves (not radiation), ultrasound helps us evaluate organs, tissues, and structures that cannot be assessed through physical exam alone. This safe and painless procedure is often used as an important next step when bloodwork, X-rays, or clinical signs indicate the need for further investigation.

Ultrasound is one more way our medical team works together to better understand what’s happening inside your pet—so we can provide thoughtful, targeted care. Important Note
Ultrasound is:
- Non-invasive
- Painless
- Typically does not require anesthesia
- Performed with your pet comfortably positioned while images are obtained

- We do not perform cardiac (echocardiogram) ultrasounds at our hospital.
- If a cardiac ultrasound is recommended, we will help guide you toward an appropriate referral.
